Galapagos: Above ground

We've made it to Isabela  Island, one of the more remote islands in the Galapagos. My brother Pete and his family have joined us. CJ and his cousins both look and act like brothers.

As with the Amazon, the wildlife is everywhere, reminding us that we are the visitors. These seals were lounging on the ferry pier.

This guy greeted us at the end of the gang plank.

And then we just began to explore . . .

The highlight of the day was this standoff between two male iguanas fighting for territory. For anyone old enough to remember Mutual of Omaha's "Wild Kingdom," this was it. I could just imagine Jim and Marlin Perkins narrating over my shoulder.
