Camera has been fixed. Clothes have been purchased.

Hoi An, Vietnam, is a delightful mid-size city near the coast. It's walkable, the temperature is cool, the food is great. The Old City, which is a world heritage site, has spectacular French architecture. Most of the old buildings have been converted into restaurants and shops. No motorized vehicles are allowed, so this is a delightful place to walk.

But Hoi An is also famous for its tailors, who turn out customized clothing at a breathtaking pace: suits, dresses, coats, shoes. The Wheelan Family has partaken in this extravagance. Sophie sketched out her prom dress over lunch.

Less than 24 hours later, she was having it fitted, though I am forbidden from showing photos lest the prom dress be revealed to the general public. Katrina had a cocktail dress made. She, too, was unexcited about being photographed during the fitting.*

*It may appear that Katrina is raising her index finger. In fact, she only has four fingers on her right hand. Thus, what may seem to be her index finger, because it is adjacent to the thumb, is in fact her middle finger. You can infer from that what you will.

Meanwhile, my camera has been fixed, for a mere 3,300,000 dong. A bargain. I will return to taking the photos that the readers of this blog have come to expect.
